New Hampshire

According to lottery officials, this is the largest POWERBALL jackpot ever won in New Hampshire.

"We are delighted that our most recent NH POWERBALL winners have decided to share their experience with us today," said Rick Wisler, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery. "People from all over New England are eager to hear their story and we are pleased to congratulate them on their good fortune."

The winners of the $135 million POWERBALL jackpot from the August 30, 2003, drawing are the Aeetos Trust of North Conway, New Hampshire, Kenneth R. Cargill, Trustee; Rosemary Centola of Watertown, Mass.; and Lawrence Centola also of Watertown, Mass. Lawrence is the father of Rosemary. The winners have not yet decided to take the lump sum cash payment or the annuitized payment over the 30-year period. At this time, they have sought legal and financial advice.

The winning easy pick ticket was purchased on Saturday, August 30, at the State Line Store in Center Conway, N.H. The State Line Store has sold three other jackpot winning tickets, including a $25.2 million POWERBALL ticket claimed by the PB 90 and PB 10 Trust of Lewiston, Maine in January of 1998; a $1.6 million Megabucks jackpot winning ticket, claimed by Alan Worcester of Center Conway in May of 1995; and a $449,472 winning New Hampshire Cash Lotto ticket, claimed by Myrtie Austin of Buckfield, Maine in February, 1992.

Wisler presented the winners with an oversized check representing the real check they will receive in several days. Wisler added that ultimately it is the children of New Hampshire who are the true winners.
