The Powerball jackpot reached $261.6 Million and then was won by a single ticket sold in the Ohio town of Sunbury, about 20 miles north of Columbus. The winning ticket was sold at the Hub Carry Out. The store was paid $100,000 for selling the winning ticket. There were three tickets that won $1 million prizes; from FL, NC, and SC. There were ten other tickets that took home the $200,000 prize; from FL (3), IA, IL, KY, MA, TN(2), and TX. There were 1,593,727 players that won a total of $15.3 million in cash prizes. The jackpot in cash or can be invested by the lottery before taxes as an annuity option paid in 30 payments over 29 years (the first payment is immediate). The annual payments increase by 4% each year to keep up with the expected cost of living.
