RALEIGH – Anthony Felder of Lumberton said he plans to use a $2 million Powerball prize to repair the damage Hurricane Matthew caused to his home.

“The flooding damaged the floors and insulation,” Felder said. “We’ll finish those repairs and fix up some other parts of the house. We’ll finally be able to do those little things we’ve dreamed of.”

An Excelsior Springs resident matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball number on Jan. 24 for a $50,000 win. Steven Kelley purchased his ticket at Price Chopper, 1645 Kearney Road, in Excelsior Springs. The winning numbers were 5, 9, 11, 33, 64 and the Powerball number was 21.

An Ellisville woman can celebrate Valentine’s Day with an extra $50,000 in her bank account after she won the prize in the Jan. 13 Powerball drawing. Kathleen Leonard purchased her winning ticket at Schnucks, 15425 Manchester Road, in Ballwin.

The winning numbers drawn on Jan. 13 were: 14, 25, 35, 58, 69, and the Powerball number was 24.

Salem, Ore. - More coffee. That's what James Wright thought when he checked his Powerball ticket. 

"I got up and looked at the ticket and decided to check the numbers from my phone," he said. "I was bleary-eyed because it was early. I saw I missed the Powerball, but then the numbers matched up. I thought it couldn't be right. So I had some coffee and checked again." 

After checking it a second time - and having his heart skip a beat - he woke his wife up and told her, "We have something special here. 

"Overall it was a very surreal experience," he said.

ROSEVILLE, Minn. - The "Hibbing Courthouse Annex Pool" arrived at the Minnesota Lottery's headquarters in Roseville by bus today to claim a $250,000 Powerball prize. 

The group of 22 all work in either the St. Louis County Courthouse in Hibbing or in the annex. 

Grant Ellis of Hibbing, purchased the ticket and was the first person to discover the win. "We do it once a week," he explained. This week has "been a bit more exciting" than usual he added with a smile.

The winner claimed the $559.7 million prize through the Good Karma Family 2018 Nominee Trust facilitated by the law firm of Shaheen & Gordon, P.A with William Shaheen serving as trustee.
