Stan Heberlie of Farmington generally buys his Powerball tickets from the same local convenience store. Stopping in at Convenience Barn, 1000 Ste. Genevieve Ave. in Farmington, before the March 27 Powerball drawing, he continued the usual trend. What was unusual, however, was that a ticket he purchased would match four of the five white-ball numbers drawn plus the Powerball number for a prize of $50,000.
After watching the 10 o’clock news that night, Heberlie remembered to check his tickets.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Heberlie said. “It was a sleepless night — let’s put it that way.”
The winning numbers for the March 27 Powerball drawing were 16, 20, 37, 44, 62, and the Powerball was 12.
Heberlie said he was unsure what the prize money might go toward, apart from paying some bills.
Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game that costs $2 per play, with drawings on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Heberlie is the 16th Missouri Lottery player to win $50,000 playing Powerball in 2019.
