RALEIGH – A tip from a Walmart employee convinced Michael Buck of Rocky Mount to try his luck in the record $2.04 billion Powerball drawing, resulting in a $100,000 prize.

“The girl at the pharmacy told me they sold Powerball tickets at customer service,” Buck said. “I told her, ‘If I win I’ll come back and buy you a car.’”

CLIVE, Iowa — So far in 2022, he’s survived a heart attack and another major health scare, and now, he’s won a $1 million Powerball® prize. So, does Daryl Ingram of Mapleton consider himself lucky?

“Unlucky or lucky, one of the two, I don’t know!” Ingram said as he claimed his $1 million prize Thursday at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive.

Melissa Creger of Simpsonville was at a restaurant eating with her husband when she checked her Powerball ticket from the October 12th drawing.  It was that moment she found out she had won $50,000.  “She just held up her phone with her hand shaking so much I could hardly see what she was showing me,” her husband said. 

“I didn’t believe it, so I double-checked it on the website once we got home.  That’s when we believed it was real,” Melissa said. 

RALEIGH – Sherry Newman-May of Willow Spring celebrated early Tuesday morning after her lucky numbers delivered her a $100,000 Powerball prize.

RALEIGH – Thomas Pharr of Charlotte said he and his wife have wanted to fix up their home for a while and, after winning a $150,000 Powerball prize, they can make that a reality.

Gary Kinnett of Russell Springs, KY is seeing clearly after claiming a $50,000 Powerball ticket from the game’s October 1st drawing. 

The winning ticket he purchased at Express Mart on Steve Wariner Drive in Russell Springs matched four of the white ball numbers and the Powerball to win the game’s third prize (Line B on his attached ticket). 

ALBUQUERQUE – Glenn McDonald from Loving, New Mexico claimed a $2 Million Powerball® prize at New Mexico Lottery Headquarters on August 17th.

PLEASANT VIEW—Donald Thompson of Pleasant View is a barber, a drag racer, an avid gym member—and now a $1 million Powerball winner.

“I stay really busy doing the things I like,” said the septuagenarian, who has no plans to slow down even after his big win.

LANSING, Mich. – A Sterling Heights Lottery club got the surprise of a lifetime when they found out the Powerball ticket they’d forgotten about was worth $1 million.

David Richie, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, was nearly speechless when he arrived at the Tennessee Lottery’s headquarters in Nashville to claim his seven-figure Powerball prize won from the June 11, 2022, drawing. And who can blame him? The lucky retiree purchased the winning ticket at a Publix grocery store in Ooltewah. Congrats to David!
