York County Man Wins $50,000 on Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® Ticket

Daniel C. of York County, who was given a Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® ticket as a Christmas stocking stuffer from his parents, received a holiday surprise when he learned he had won $50,000! On Monday, December 25, 2023, three Powerball® tickets matched four of the five white balls drawn, 5-12-20-24-29, and the red Powerball® 2 to win $50,000, less applicable withholding. Daniel was holding one of those tickets. “I thought I didn’t win anything, then my brother let me know that I won $50,000!” said Daniel. “I walked downstairs to tell my family and shortly after called my fiancé. They were in shock.” Daniel and his dad Doug visited the Lottery’s Harrisburg Office on December 28 to claim his prize and share his winning story. He said he plans to put the money to good use to help pay for his upcoming wedding and honeymoon. Daniel added, “I also want to pay off some debts and help my family.” Congratulations, Daniel, and thank you for playing!
