A group of TG Kentucky workers carpooled to the Kentucky Lottery after work on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025 – entering the lobby with a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket they purchased at Country Convenient in Lebanon, Ky. as part of their office pool.
For several years, each member of the group has been paying into an office pool and having co-workers purchase tickets when the Powerball jackpot hits $800 million.
“There are several office pools at work and to make it easier for this group we start pooling our money when the jackpot gets to $800 million,” one of the winner’s said.
The group gathered in the Kentucky Lottery’s winner’s lobby with a $50,000 ceremonial check, taking photos before being handed their individual prize – just over $1,800 after taxes.
The group was planning to buy their tickets for Saturday night’s Powerball drawing after leaving the Kentucky Lottery. The group joked that their $50,000 win was just a practice run ahead of Saturday’s $1 billion jackpot drawing. The group was just one number away from winning the jackpot on Monday, Dec. 8.
The group’s winning ticket matched four white ball winning numbers and the Powerball®, winning $50,000. The winning Powerball numbers were 8 – 32 – 52 – 56 – 64 with a Powerball of 23.
The group works in the tool and die department at TG Kentucky, a part of the global automotive supplier Toyoda Gosei Group.
This is the second big Kentucky Lottery Powerball office pool win this year. In April, a group of 17 Barton 1792 Distillery workers out of Bardstown, Ky. won $50,000.
Country Convenient will receive $500 for selling the winning ticket.
In 2025, the Kentucky Lottery paid out more than $1.6 billion in prizes. Kentucky Lottery proceeds have funded scholarships and grants for more than 1 million Kentucky college students.
