NY Lottery: Single $148 Million Powerball Jackpot Ticket Sold in Long Island

AUGUST 18, 2019 — The New York Lottery today announced that one first prize ticket was sold in New York for the August 17 Powerball drawing. The ticket is worth an annuitized $148 million or a cash value of $105 million.

The sole winning ticket was purchased at Merrick Gas and Repair in Merrick.

The winning numbers were 18,21,24,30 and 60 and a Powerball of 20.

Powerball jackpots start at $40 million and increase by a minimum of $10 million per draw until the jackpot is won. Players select five numbers from 1 to 69; and one Powerball number from 1 to 26.

Powerball jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a one-time lump sum payment. Both advertised prize options are prior to federal and state taxes.

A Lottery draw game prize of any amount may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.
