A Powerball® player in Tennessee won a half million dollar prize in last night's Double Play® drawing.
According to to the Tennessee Lottery, the winning ticket was sold in Oneida, Tennessee.
The player won the $500,000 prize by adding the Double Play feature to their Powerball ticket for an extra dollar and matching all five black balls in the Double Play drawing, held after the Powerball drawing.
The winning numbers in the May 17 Double Play drawing were black balls 21, 26, 37, 52, 53 and the Double Play Powerball number was 26.
Double Play is an add-on feature that gives players in select jurisdictions another chance to match their Powerball numbers in a separate drawing with a top cash prize of $10 million. Players can add the Double Play feature to their Powerball ticket for an additional $1 per play. Players play the same set of numbers in both the main Powerball drawing and the separate Double Play drawing.
Double Play drawings are held after Powerball drawings every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets that include the Double Play feature are eligible to win prizes in both drawings.
