Salem, Ore. - More coffee. That's what James Wright thought when he checked his Powerball ticket. 

"I got up and looked at the ticket and decided to check the numbers from my phone," he said. "I was bleary-eyed because it was early. I saw I missed the Powerball, but then the numbers matched up. I thought it couldn't be right. So I had some coffee and checked again." 

After checking it a second time - and having his heart skip a beat - he woke his wife up and told her, "We have something special here. 

"Overall it was a very surreal experience," he said.

ROSEVILLE, Minn. - The "Hibbing Courthouse Annex Pool" arrived at the Minnesota Lottery's headquarters in Roseville by bus today to claim a $250,000 Powerball prize. 

The group of 22 all work in either the St. Louis County Courthouse in Hibbing or in the annex. 

Grant Ellis of Hibbing, purchased the ticket and was the first person to discover the win. "We do it once a week," he explained. This week has "been a bit more exciting" than usual he added with a smile.

CONCORD, N.H. – The winner of a $559.7 million New Hampshire Powerball jackpot has claimed her prize and is donating a combined $250,000 to Girls Inc. of New Hampshire and three chapters of End 68 Hours of Hunger. The winner claimed the $559.7 million prize through the Good Karma Family 2018 Nominee Trust facilitated by the law firm of Shaheen & Gordon, P.A with William Shaheen serving as trustee.

A Wisconsin man recently claimed a $50,000 Powerball prize.

Wallace Zernicke of Wisconsin Rapids purchased his winning ticket at Bud's Corner Mart at 2421 48th Street South in Wisconsin Rapids.

The ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball in the Jan. 6 drawing.

When Ima Jean Sanders checked her Powerball ticket, she couldn't believe her luck. The Bolivar resident matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball number in the Jan. 3 drawing to win $50,000. 

The winning numbers were 2, 18, 37, 39, 42, and the Powerball number was 12. 

Sanders said this is the first time she's won anything. 

"Oh, no, no, I just won the Lottery," Sanders exclaimed, after she realized she had a winning ticket. "I looked and looked. I'm so tickled."

CLIVE, Iowa - A central Iowa man said the cold weather almost kept him at home, but at the last minute, he decided to go out and buy Powerball tickets on New Year's weekend - and he won a $1 million prize.

RALEIGH - Kody Pugh of Conover is celebrating his good fortune after he won $100,000 playing Powerball.  

"It was heart racing," Pugh said of the win. "It's crazy! It still hasn't hit me." 

Pugh's good fortune happened when he stopped by the Citgo Food Mart on East Conover Boulevard in Conover to get a lottery ticket. 

"I don't play Powerball," Pugh said. "I usually play Pick 3, but I just had a feeling to switch." 

He got a ticket for the Dec. 30 drawing, and it beat odds of one in 913,129 to win the prize.

ATLANTA - Willie West Jr. of Cuthbert is starting the new year as a new millionaire. West was presented an oversized check Thursday for winning a $2 million prize in the Dec. 27 Powerball drawing. 

One Stop Food Store, located at 374 Blakely St. in Cuthbert, sold the winning ticket. 

Winning numbers from the Dec. 27 drawing were: 3-9-16-56-60 and the Powerball was 3. West matched the first five numbers using the Quik Pik feature and doubled his prize with Power Play.

On Christmas morning, Peggy Lunsford realized her work group had a $1 million winning Powerball ticket.

While traveling between Idaho and Utah for a Foo Fighters concert in mid-December, Eugene Lewis and his wife made a quick travel stop at the Top Stop in Malad. After freshening up, they purchased a Powerball ticket before continuing on their journey. 

Two weeks later, the couple found themselves in Boise collecting on their winning ticket - a ticket which matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball, plus had the PowerPlay.
